Robotics Arc welding SIM
This project involved use of ATS internal software to develop a simulation for an arc welding robotics cell. This particular project used several axis/joints to maneuver the product that was to be welded. Some benefits of this project were the fact that the client could be certain that all the weld areas were accessible and that the robot could reach those areas with a proper torch angle.
Sometimes it is possible to reach an area of the part and struggle to get a proper torch angle that will allow for a decent weld.
Another key benefit was the client was able to preview all the motion for joints of the fixtures and confirm there were no clashes or interference.
And finally the cycle time analysis provided details on the final production counts the machine would be capable of.
